Knuckle up, Press on, Bamboo tree

Have you heard about the Chinese bamboo tree?

You take a little seed, plant it, water it, and fertilise it for a whole year, and nothing happens.

The second year you water it and fertilise it, and nothing happens.

The third year you water it and fertilise it, and nothing happens. How discouraging is that!

The fourth year you water it and fertilise it, and nothing happens. This is very frustrating as major effort is involved and still nothing!! How many of us would have given up ages ago?

The fifth year you continue to water and fertilise the seed and then…take note. Sometime during the fifth year, the Chinese bamboo tree spouts and grows NINETY FEET IN SIX WEEKS

If at anytime you stopped watering and fertilising the seed, it would have died. The question is did it grow 90 feet in 5 years or 6 weeks?

The Christian walk is like the growing process of the Chinese bamboo tree. It can sometimes be discouraging. We seemingly do things right, and nothing happens.

I want to say to every one of you, as a person that has hung in there for sometime now and continues to press in. Keep doing the right things, do not be discouraged and be persistent, God will continue to do great things in your life, he has a purpose for you, it will happen. You may not see results straight away. You may have been given a word that hasn’t come to pass yet, be persistent and get ready.
