ROMANS 12:1-2
I am reminded again and again as I enter my 14th year of following Christ, that what we think and what we believe is key to how we approach and do life. It really does determine our steps and our response to the events of life.
Whenever I have found myself in a sticky situation it can be traced back the root of what I am believing. I am convinced that the enemy’s (Satan) number one tactic is to manipulate what we think. He did that in the garden of eden, he planted doubt in the mind of Eve, which changed how she viewed God and ultimately changed how they even viewed themselves.
Romans 12:1-2
It doesn’t say be transformed by the renewing of your doing! It says be transformed by the renewing of your mind. What we think, what we believe is key to our Christian walk. This is why it’s important to take some time reflecting, the Bible calls this meditating. We meditate on what God’s view is, beacuse we need to line up our thinking with His, not the other way around. Take some time to ask the following questions:
1. What does God say about Himself?
2. What does God say about me?
3. What does God say about others?
You see if we know who our Father God is, who we are and the way we are meant to think of others, then we can respond to life in the way that he has called us to.
The Christian walk isn’t about following a bunch of rules, so many do’s& don’ts we don’t know what to do with. It’s about surrendering to Jesus every day and every moment, and in that, allowing what He has done for us to point us into a life of abundance, a life of being transformed daily into all that God wants us to be.
