LIFE CAN BE BUSY

Life can sometimes be busy pulling us in so many directions with different commitments, such as family, church, work, friends etc, we can get to the point of feeling completely worn out and exhausted. Even sleeping cannot provide sufficient rest, yet that is not Gods heart for His people.

I was reminded in a time of prayer that Jesus said “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11v28 -30) 

I wanted to know more about how to apply this to my life, which just seems to get busier and more stressful. I looked at different versions, commentaries and explanations. The word light has not been translated as well as it could, not merely meaning light, but being light like a feather, a lightness that lifts us, enabling us to rise above and overcome our circumstances and situations. Wow, what release! Jesus promises He will give us true rest, not like the world, but a rest that sets us free from worries, anxieties, fears, situations, and an ability to rise above that which makes us weary and robs us of Gods true peace.
