Shoeboxes
Church, its that time once again! The summer holidays have drawn to a close and as if the Christmas holidays didn’t seem suddenly looming, we have another thing to propel us towards them!
The Christmas shoeboxes are once again being collected from our church and processed in Hereford. What a priceless yet simple opportunity to bless someone who would otherwise not get a gift at all.
We shall be putting the display up and accepting donations from the week of the October half term. There shall be some pre-made boxes for you to use but this is a perfect chance to make use of those new school shoe boxes too!
Some rules change regarding what can go in the boxes as we change destination; sadly we are no longer allowed to put in sweets or toothpaste (toothbrushes still greatly appreciated though!). As ever, no war related toys please.
For these children who are in unimaginable circumstances, this is a practical way we can help to show that God has the ultimate gift for them- salvation and unending love. Let’s step up together as a church family and bless these communities.
Linked is a video testimony of the impact one box (and some tooth floss) can have. https://goo.gl/ZZxA5E
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.””
Luke 6:38 NIV
