Connecting Digitally
Lets not forget that church is not about a Sunday meeting. Although it’s the time we choose to come together in a larger group and is such a great time of the week.
Matthew 18:20 New International Version (NIV)
20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Following the announcement to cancel our Sunday services we will be launching Church Online this Sunday at 10:30 for our morning service.
Church Online will help us to continue doing Church, whilst also following government guidelines and keeping others safe. We would love to say that we will continue meeting at this stage, but loving one another also means not putting them at risk.
What is it?
Church Online will contain live worship with words, and one of the CLC leaders sharing the Word. There will also be an interactive feature meaning you can share thoughts, comments and questions during the service.
There’s no need for Facebook or Google. We will be sharing links for you to access and join in.
For those of you on Facebook we will look to go facebook live and chat with some of you that are around. We don’t expect you to do this, but if you want to know more about how you could do this, follow the link below:
We will have some watch parties on Facebook. These are a great tool, that is fairly new. Learn more about that here:
Google have a great tool called ‘Hangouts’
For those of you that have an android phone you can video call with multiple people:
We encourage you to have a try and arrange to maybe meet as a group and chat, pray, read the bible.
An alternative to Google Hangouts is ZOOM. Its on par with Google hangouts in technical ability. But you dont need an email address to run with it.
We recommend sticking to these as it makes it easier for us to connect together if we use a limited amount of options.
Danny from Hereford is your go to on getting Google hangouts going.
Jason and Paula from Ross are your go to for getting Zoom going.
For those of you that don’t like this kinda thing or fond it hard to relate through social media, a simple phone call will be great.
In the coming days, we will get some phone numbers out there of people that you can call and chat with. Let us have your up to date phone number, as that will help us massively. Get on touch if you want to be someone that rings around and chats and prays with people, as we would love to do this together as a church.
Let us use this time to innovate and connect, not to hibernate and sit in fear.
All of the above tools can be used to connect with people that don’t know Jesus, let us demonstrate and bring the hope that we have in Jesus at a time where people are more aware of the finite nature of humanity.
